Ghost
Betty Wilson costumier
A cast from dress rescued from a closing fancy dress shop in Stirling: the used,
handmade clothing was deemed valueless by the town: replaced by cheap,
mass-produced costumes: worn once then discarded.
The dress is a fragment of the modern history of Stirling, something that
strangers shared, and, in a way, collectively owned. Sadly Stirling, so proud of its
ancient history and ghosts, is less able to appreciating the present.
